Why did you decide to study a masters at the University of Leeds?
During my undergraduate in Chemical Engineering, I did an eighteen months rotational program. In this time, I was attracted to continuous improvement processes in materials and I learned the impact of science in industries, improving the quality of the product, and the design of the product. This experience makes me realise that science can be a complement to my bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
What has been the best aspect of studying on your course and why?
This course count with highly-qualified experts in the field to giving the best experience to students during the course. Also, the course offers modules that introduce the science and a project module that helps students to develop research and laboratory skills.
What does Leeds as a city have to offer students?
The city has a great environment to relax and amuse, whether in the city, in parks or in big green areas outskirts of the city. Students have contact with the arts and sports, as cultural or sports events, classical music concerts, and art galleries. Also, Leeds is an international city that gives you the opportunity to know people from different countries, cultures amd languages. This allows a wide network of contacts from around the world.
What are your ambitions for the future?
Continuing developing my skills and keep gaining knowledge and experience to become an important asset to industries, where I can develop professionally.
What experiences at Leeds do you think will help you in your future career?
The University of Leeds allows students to be in contact with each other by offering international events, allowing social clubs, and different language social groups. In my experience, all of this helped me to improve my English and practice other languages I know. These international and inter-cultural experiences helped me to develop new social skills that in the future will allow me to work in an international environment.
What would you say to students coming to do the same course?
This course allows the student a clear understanding the application of science in industrial processes. Therefore, I widely this course and the University of Leeds. Since arriving Leeds, I have received excellent attention from my professor and an excellent learning experience.
