Industrial Advisory Board
The Industrial Advisory Board meets at least annually with the School’s senior staff members to provide strategic advice for the development of student education, research and knowledge transfer activities.
The Board members provide a broad-based industry perspective and updates of developments within the industrial and education community to assist the School with the formulation of its teaching and research strategies. The Board also advises on the technical expertise and professional skills that employers expect from graduates, ensuring that our students get the best employment opportunities throughout the course of their study, including placements and internships, and employment upon graduation.

Aeronautical Industrial Advisory Board
The Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering Industrial Advisory Board was established as part of the accreditation requirements set by the Royal Aeronautical Society and Institution of Mechanical Engineers for aerospace specific taught degree programmes in the School of Mechanical Engineering. The board meets twice annually with the School's aerospace specific staff members to develop student education, transfer knowledge, and participate in research activities.
Board members provide an aerospace industry specific focus and updates on developments within their sector which may impact on Higher Education Institutions. This feeds into the School's formulation of teaching and research strategies as well as providing students with a voice to communicate concerns with their degree programme. Student projects are co-supervised by Board Members who provide valuable formative feedback at these meetings. This also generates other ongoing opportunities for students including placements, internships, and exposure graduate employers.
