Undergraduate degrees

Mechanical engineers are involved in the design and manufacture of almost everything. As a mechanical engineer you could become involved in design, manufacture, research, development, management or marketing. Our courses share a common first two years, which means you have the freedom to switch courses up until the end of your second year.

We also teach Product Design BSc and contribute to the multidisciplinary Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering MEng, BEng course.

Work placements and study abroad

Accredited degrees: Our Industrial Advisory Board ensures our courses are up-to-date with the modern practices and techniques that will enable you to succeed in industry upon graduation. Many of our degrees are accredited by the relevant accrediting body, such as the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Hands-on learning: All our courses are practical, so you’ll benefit from specialist facilities including extensive lab space and equipment, putting into practice what you have learned by designing, manufacturing and assembling devices and testing their performance.
