The effect of avascular necrosis of the hip on articular function in natural and artificial

This research aims to explore the connection between AVN (avascular necrosis) induced bone deterioration and joint function using a dynamic computational model, focusing on the biotribological impact of AVN on bone and cartilage properties in the early stages. The findings will provide crucial scientific support for developing conservative treatments for early-stage AVN, enhancing joint function and reducing pain and disability.

Impact

The project proposal is intended to understand the changes in tribological, and mechanical performances of the hip joint affected by AVN. The study will be useful to the clinician to diagnose the severity, degradation of functional aspects such as friction and bone strength, thus deducing appropriate medical care.
