Visualization award for Computing academic
Dr Hamish Carr, Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing, has received the award for the ‘Best Scientific Visualization Paper’ at the IEEE Visualization conference in Baltimore.
The IEEE Visualization conference is the leading conference on visualization, with acceptance rates around 20-25%, and co-publishes the accepted papers in the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (IEEE TVCG), a leading journal for visualization, and one of the top 20 high-impact Computer Science journals.
Dr Carr, who contributes to the School of Computing’s High-Performance Graphics and Games Engineering programmes, also has another full paper accepted to the conference, a third paper that has been invited from IEEE TVCG to present at the conference, and a fourth paper at a collocated workshop.
Dr Carr’s work was supported by the Multifield Extension of Topological Analysis (META) grant – EPSRC EP/J013072/1.
