Join us at EGX, the UK’s largest gaming event

On 21 September the School of Computing will exhibit at EGX 2017 – the UK’s biggest games event – which will take place at the NEC in Birmingham.

The annual event, which attracts thousands of gaming enthusiasts from across the UK, will take place between 21 and 24 September 2017. Dr Hamish Carr and representatives from the School of Computing will be there to showcase High-Performance Graphics and Games Engineering at Leeds.

Recently launched, our gaming programmes ensure that computing students are well-placed to join one of the most performance-driven applications of computer science – the multi-billion pound global games industry.

Globally renowned, EGX exhibits the most anticipated console and PC games before their release, as well as presentations by the world’s best game designers. The event will also offer areas dedicated to eSports, and the opportunity to meet successful game creators.

Talented gamers from across the country will be able to see examples from and ask about our recently launched undergraduate four-year MEng, and one-year Master’s degree in High-Performance Graphics and Games Engineering.

These two programmes offered by the University of Leeds seek to bridge the growing skills crisis in the UK and produce the technical developers the industry greatly needs.
