The Understanding Microbiology for Aseptic Services course has been developed by NHS TSET (the Technical Specialist Education and Training group) and is facilitated by the University of Leeds.

Who should attend?

This course has been specifically designed to give you an overview of practical microbiology and is ideal for those currently working in the aseptic services field. In particular accountable pharmacists should consider attending this course along with:

    Microbes and their sources, how to best detect them and why do they recur?
  • WORKSHOP - Interpretation of data
    Reviewing and understanding micro results. Strange ids, no identification or genus id.

    Sanitisation and disinfection options, techniques and validation
  • Workshop – Investigations
    Risk management of data, root cause analysis and CAPA; how best to react

Please note, CPD attendance certificates will be given out at the end of the course. We would encourage you to plan your return travel to enable you to attend the whole course.

Fee information

Delegates are advised to book early in case any covid-19 restrictions in place at the time of the course result in reduced venue/room capacities and attendee numbers. We will be accepting bookings on a first come first served basis and if we do need to reduce numbers by cancelling bookings delegates will be informed at least four weeks prior to the course and a full refund will be issued.

Fees are VAT exempt

The course fee includes cost of tuition, course materials, lunch and light refreshments.

Bedrooms are subject to availability and the following rates (including VAT) apply with a ‘48 hours prior to arrival with no cancellation fee’ policy: Monday – Thursday, bed and breakfast £89 per night, for sole occupancy in a superior double room. Please book your accommodation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment with availability. A list of alternative hotels is available on request. Delegates are responsible for their own evening meals (if required).
