Profile
I am a Lecturer in Engineering Management at the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds. Previously, I was a Professional Teaching Fellow and the Director of the Master of Engineering Project Management at the Graduate School of Engineering at the University of Auckland (2020 – 2022). I finished my PhD in Construction Management in July 2020 at the University of Auckland.
Prior to academia, I worked in the industry in several positions, shifting between structural design, quantity surveying, building services coordination, and construction site management. I was involved in different types of engineering projects such as infrastructure, residential, industrial, and hospitality.
I am a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Risk Management Professional (RMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Research interests
I am passionate about enabling innovative solutions in the engineering industry to improve the delivery of projects. In my PhD and MSc research, I investigated the interface between several operational research applications and construction management in order to develop decision-making support tools that intend to capture the complexity of construction systems to examine different scenarios and provide insights to construction managers. Realising that engineering is about generating positive change in society, I believe that innovation is not an end in itself, and there should be a balance between optimism and realism. Accordingly, I always put practicality as the main driver for my research efforts. The following is an overview of my research interests:
Operational Research
Investigating the barriers and enablers of implementing operational research tools to support decision-making in construction.
Productivity improvement and Lean production
Understanding how experience and learning curve models can affect productivity in construction projects, and establishing the feasibility of lean production in construction.
Construction digitalisation
Conceptualising Digital Twins as Socio-Technical Systems
Knowledge management
Investigating Knowledge management practices in engineering/construction organisations and the impact of organisational culture on knowledge management.
