Campus Live - Zero Carbon Leeds mural
As part of Campus Live, James McKay has created a mural in the middle of campus, showing Leeds as a Zero Carbon Future city in the year 2050.
The very long, thin mural, used the circular wall in the "Tetley Gardens", between the Union and Social Sciences buildings. If coming from the University entrance and Great Hall, it's on the right just before you get to the Edward Boyle Library steps and Red Route.
The mural is a panorama including a tree planting project in north Leeds (30 years on), Bodington Fields Natural Flood Management site, University campus, Leeds city centre, the river Aire and a low-impact living affordable community (LILAC).
James (Bioenergy CDT manager) worked on the mural for a couple of weeks, where colleagues were given the opportunity to make suggestions for things to include in the mural, such as referencing their research on work related to net zero.
