Dr Georgios Aivaliotis

I am Lecturer at the Department of Statistics and a Fellow of the Alan Turing Institute. My background is in statistics, probability theory and stochastic control. My current research interests evolve in the intersection of statistical and machine learning methods and I am interested in applications to health and finance. During my career I have been involved in a number of projects with industrial partners seeking advice in statistical and machine learning applications.
I believe statistics have the power to change the world and are vital to modern societies and economies. What it takes is highly-skilled statisticians, with rigorous theoretical grounding, who can analyse data and interpret the results clearly, properly and objectively.
