School of Computing to exhibit at UK’s biggest games event

The University of Leeds will be attending the 2016 EGX event from the 22-25th September at the NEC in Birmingham.

The annual event attracts thousands of gaming enthusiasts from across the country to test the most anticipated console and PC games, weeks or months before they're released. The School of Computing, University of Leeds will be exhibiting in the popular GamesIndustry.biz career's fair at the event where attendees will be able to find out more information about the newly launched undergraduate four-year MEng and one-year postgraduate Master’s degree in High-Performance Graphics and Games Engineering which are open for 2017 entry.

The launch of these two programmes came after stark warnings of a severe technical skills shortage in the UK. Developed in collaboration with a prestigious steering group from industry, the structure and content of the programmes have been steered by a mix of industry giants, large studios and low-level technical experts, including: NVIDIA; Epic Games, Sumo Digital, Barog Game Labs, Team 17 and Weaseltron.
