Celebrating Women in Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with Women at Leeds, the Women's Engineering Society, and the North Yorkshire Young Members panel of the iMechE are celebrating women engineers.
The event will be an evening talk from some of our region’s most exciting female engineering mentors and role models.
National Women in Engineering Day was established by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES). The aim is to celebrate the work of women engineers and to showcase the great engineering careers that are available for girls. This event will provide an insight into the successes and career journey’s of a variety of women engineers at different stages of their careers, whilst touching on the scope and technicalities behind various areas of engineering.

Annabel Downing - Founding President of Student Women’s Engineering Society at University of Leeds
Jill Sigournay - Nuclear Project Lead Engineer, Rotork
The event will take the form of short presentations by the speakers followed by a roundtable panel discussions. There will be an opportunity to network before and after the event over refreshments.
