Keynote Speaker:
Professor Michael Grove (University of Birmingham) – Michael Grove is Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education Policy and Academic Standards at the University of Birmingham, Professor of Mathematics and Mathematics Education, and a National Teaching Fellow. As DPVC, he provides strategic leadership in higher education policy, and in ensuring excellent education standards across the University’s diverse student community and broad curriculum portfolio.
Speakers:
Professor Samantha Pugh (University of Leeds) – Samantha is Professor of STEM Higher Education at the University of Leeds, University Academic Lead for Artificial Intelligence, and a National Teaching Fellow. She leads the Leeds Pedagogical Research in Science, Mathematics and Engineering (PRiSME) Group, and a founder of the CATE award-winning TALENT (Teaching and Learning Enhancement Network), advancing research-informed practice in mathematics, science and engineering education. Her expertise spans higher and STEM education, curriculum development, AI integration, employer engagement, experiential learning, and team-based learning and training.
Professor Chris Sangwin (University of Edinburgh) – Chris Sangwin joined the University of Edinburgh in 2015 as Professor of Technology Enhanced Science Education. His research interests center on digital educational technology and automatic assessment of mathematics using computer algebra. He is particularly interested in assessment of proof, in algebraic symbolism and elementary algebra.
Professor Alison Voice (University of Leeds) - Alison Voice is Professor of Physics Education in the School of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Leeds. She is founder and head of their Physics Education Research Group. Having started her academic career in lab-based research on polymer physics she made the transition to researching physics education about 10 years ago. Alison is a National Teaching Fellow and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
