Talk title: Hydration of CSA Cements: Exploring Single Phases to Whole Systems, from Early to Long-Term Reactions
Daniel Jansen is a mineralogist who holds a PhD in the field of building materials and their hydration. His work includes a fundamental understanding of the hydration of cements. He is also involved in research on the recycling and carbonation of cement, as well as carbonation hardening.
Dr Cameron Murray
Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Arkansas
Talk title: The Role of Risk in Engineering: Lessons from the Past Applied to CSA Cements
Cameron Murray is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, USA. His main research interest is the application of fast-setting cements, including BCSA cement, to engineering structures. He also performs research on topics such as prestressed and reinforced concrete, concrete mixture design, and concrete pavements. He is actively involved in the American Concrete Institute, where he co-chairs the ACI Faculty Network, serves on the Alternative Cements Committee, and received the 2022 ACI Walter P. Moore, Jr. Faculty Achievement Award. He teaches structural engineering courses, with an emphasis on concrete design.
