Why did you decide to study a masters at the University of Leeds?

The main reason why I chose The University of Leeds was for the diverse range of modules available and reputable status of the university itself. The university provided several areas in which I was keen to further develop my knowledge in whilst allowing me to be confident in the fact that I would improve the necessary skills to a standard that can be taken forward into the industry itself.

What has been the best aspect of studying on your course and at the University so far and why?

The best aspect of the course so far has been how approachable all the teaching staff across my modules have been. Whether it was for a quick chat to clarify a question or sitting down to give additional guidance when needed, I knew I could ask and they would happily help to the best of their abilities.

What does Leeds as a city have to offer students?

Leeds offers a wide variety of activities. There is a great range of pubs, bars, restaurants and places to shop just within the city centre itself. You will also find a great range of tourist attractions both within the city and others easily reachable with the public transport available.

What are your ambitions for the future?

My main goal is to be working within industry doing something that is both practical and experimental. I would like to leave my own mark within the industry by providing positive impacts on projects that are at the forefront of their field.

What experiences at Leeds do you think will help you in your future career?

The first thing that comes to mind is the MSc project that I am currently working on. The project itself requires you to take responsibility for planning and developing a concept from an initial idea all the way through to delivering a working piece of software alongside a thesis. Essential skills such as time management and problem solving can be applied directly to any future projects that I may work on.

What would you say to students coming to do the same course?

I would highly recommend studying in Leeds and my main piece of advice would be if you are stuck with anything, ask! At the end of the day, the teaching staff are there to help and will more than likely clarify any queries you may have.
