Why did you decide to study at the University of Leeds?

I wanted to study at a university that offers a high level of education through both academic and practical methods. This means choosing a university with a good course selection and well-developed course structures, as well as a great research facility and labs.

When I found the University of Leeds, I knew that it was the university for me. With various programs, and very detailed modules and course structures, I could see a strong future if I were to study in Leeds.

Other than that, as an international student, having a great student experience is crucial. Luckily, the University of Leeds is ranked first in the UK for student satisfaction, and immediately after my first few weeks, I noticed why. The uni takes such good care of the students with the help and interaction of the amazing staff and teachers that assist the student in any way possible.

Why did you choose this particular course?

Robotics has always been part of my life. I started tinkering and building small home projects since middle-school. Naturally, I wanted to pursue it in my professional life. The mechatronics and robotics course felt just right.

What have been the best aspects of studying your course, and why?

What makes it particularly great is the amount of practical work and constant lab projects, because they allow an optimal learning experience for any student. With constant help and support from the teachers, I was able to grasp any new chapter with ease, faster than any traditional lecture.

Tell us about some of the exciting projects you have completed on your course?

What we learn in the labs can be applicable to any kind of personal projects. For example, we learned how to build an RF remote controlled car, instead of using prebuilt circuits. This can easily be used in any robots for the Robot Fighting League.

What does Leeds as a city have to offer students?

Other than the University, Leeds is an outstanding city with a variety of outdoor activities, sports centres and nightlife for any genre. It lets us disconnect from studying for a bit of mental and physical divertissement.
