IStructE Fellowship for civil engineering academic

David Richardson, Senior Teaching Fellow in the School of Civil Engineering, has been made a Fellow the Institution of Structural Engineers.

The grade recognises excellence in structural engineering achievement and acknowledges that the recipient has made a significant contribution to the profession. David received his Fellowship Certificate from the CEO of the IStructE, Martin Powell, at the Yorkshire Region annual dinner on 14th October.

David has been a Senior Teaching Fellow in the School of Civil Engineering since 2012. For 28 years prior to this he worked in industry as a Consulting Structural Engineer, the final 6 years of which was spent as a Technical Director in the WYG group. David is structural design champion in the School and is the current Level 1 tutor. He is  the module leader for the Level 3 Construction Site Fieldcourse (Constructionarium) module and is also the Deputy Director of Student Education.
