Mechanical Engineering: Teaching at its best
In addition to featuring in the top 10 for Mechanical Engineering in the UK, The Sunday Times University Guide has ranked Leeds number 1 out of all Russell Group universities.
The ranking is for mechanically based engineering for the second year running, with 87% of our students rating our teaching as excellent.
According to Sean Coughlan, the BBC’s education correspondent “The Russell Group represents some of the most prestigious universities in the UK” and in 2012 the group expanded to include 4 more elite universities including Durham, Exeter and Queen Mary, London. Even with this expanded group, the 2013 Guide shows Leeds’ score of 87% for Teaching Excellence once again puts it clearly at the top of this prestigious group, recognising the excellent student experience within the School.
*Mechanically based Engineering includes Mechanical, Automotive, Medical, Aeronautical Engineering and Product Design
