From perturbation theory to operator algebras: the example of sine-Gordon model

Kasia Rejzner, University of York. Part of the integrable systems seminars series.

Perturbative algebraic quantum theory is a rigorous mathematical framework that allows to combine the ideas of local quantum physics in the sense of Haag with methods of perturbation theory. In my talk, I will give an overview of this approach and show how to apply it to the sine-Gordon model, where one can see that the relevant perturbative series converges. This allows us to construct a net of von Neumann algebras for this model.
