Title: Nonlinear Dynamics of Time-Delay Systems
Abstract: In this talk, I will present several analytical and numerically obtained results on the nonlinear dynamics of delay differential equations, including a characterisation of the eigenvalue spectrum of steady states with large delay and temporally localized solutions.
Understanding the role of time-delays is crucial, as time-delays can dramatically alter the behaviour of a system possibly leading to oscillations, complex dynamical behaviour, and chaos.
I will motivate the need to further improve these methods with the consequences and challenges posed by examples in Mathematical Biology, Climate dynamics, and Nonlinear Optics.
