Bioenergy and Biofuels Researchers Trained in Life Cycle Analysis
Dr Julio Sacramento Rivero, from the Autonomous University of Yucatán (UADY), Mexico, ran an 18 hour online training course on Life Cycle Assessment.
The training conducted by Dr Rivero (pictured top right) was spread in conveniently sized chunks of 3hrs between the 1st-15th June, for 12 researchers in SCAPE and 3 in Trinity College Dublin, ranging from academics to MSc students. It was part of UADY's partnership on the £1.3M EPSRC/SFI funded SusLABB project, led by Professor Alison Tomlin and Dr Stephen Dooley (Trinity College Dublin).
SusLABB and the CDT in Bioenergy allowed the acquisition of a 40 users SimaPro Perpetual Classroom license that will be used to analyse the life cycles of SusLABB's biofuel blends production and utilisation routes, as well as in finishing CDT bioenergy PhD projects (e.g. Cameron Rout) and new ones. It runs on a dedicated server via AppsAnywhere for authorised users.
