The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017

The Faculty of Engineering has achieved fantastic results in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017.

Mechanical Engineering at Leeds is ranked 3rd in the UK according to the new results, retaining its status as a top 5 university for mechanical engineering in every major UK league table.

Civil Engineering has risen five places to fifth overall, and is ranked 4th for teaching quality and 3rd for student experience.

Computer Science is ranked in the top ten in the UK, and received impressive scores in teaching quality (2nd) and student experience (3rd). The high student experience score compliments the 99% student satisfaction it received in the latest National Student Survey (NSS).

Electronic and Electrical Engineering retained its status in the top 10 for a fourth successive year, achieving very high teaching quality (5th) and student experience (3rd) scores.

Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering rose two places to 4th in the UK. 

The University of Leeds engineering subjects are ranked as follows:

  • Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering: 4th
  • Chemical Engineering: 15th
  • Civil Engineering: 5th  
  • Computer Science: 9th
  • Electronic and Electrical Engineering: 8th 
  • Mechanical Engineering: 3rd

The University of Leeds overall has moved up one place to 13th and was announced University of the Year 2017 by the Good University Guide. 

Published annually, the Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide ranks universities according to a number of indicators including: teaching quality, student experience, research quality, entry points and graduate prospects.
