The results mean that Leeds joins the NSS top 20 higher education institutions in the UK for the first time, which includes a number of smaller, specialist institutions which scored highly.
Impressive student satisfaction scores for the Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering has achieved excellent student satisfaction results in the 2016 National Student Survey (NSS).
Computer Science courses achieved 99% overall student satisfaction and Electronic and Electrical Engineering achieved 96%, with both areas ranked number one in the Russell Group.
There were other strong scores in the rest of the Faculty. 91% of Mechanical Engineering final year students said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their course and Civil Engineering courses achieved 94%.
The high engineering scores coincide with the University of Leeds impressive score of 90% overall satisfaction, with 91% of students happy or very happy with the teaching at the University. Leeds University Union continues to receive one of the sector’s highest rankings, and its satisfaction rating of 92% is significantly above the average of 69%.
The National Student Survey gathers opinions from final year undergraduate students about their experience of their course and is completed by students at all publicly funded Higher Educations Institutions.
About 312,000 UK final year students responded to the survey, slightly higher than the previous two years.
