Faculty Employability Suite Open for Business
Our Faculty of Engineering Employability Suite had its official launch last week, with students, staff and various graduate companies in attendance at the mini networking event and employability fair.
The event was an opportunity to introduce new students to the facilities and support services, which will be offered during this academic year and students were able to speak to companies such as Procter & Gamble and Rolls Royce, University alumni and other experts from the Careers Centre at the University.
The employability suite, located centrally within the Faculty, houses our dedicated employability team, who provide students with specialist face-to-face career support and advice. The employability team also help students to find relevant work experience, internships and placements, as well as graduate positions.
“The event was a great opportunity for us to promote the services we offer to students, both in the Faculty and in the wider University, as well as our new employability programme,” says Emily Timson, Employability Business Development Manager. “It was our first student event of this academic year and gave all students across the Faculty the chance to experience a mini networking event and employability fair. Those students undecided about which career path to take could talk with experts about their career ideas, whilst others could gather information about internships, placements and graduate jobs. It was great for them to be able to meet some of our students who are working in industry, as well as our strategic partners.”
