Success for engineering in the Guardian University league tables 2016
The Faculty of Engineering has achieved excellent results in the latest Guardian University league tables.
Mechanical, electronic and electrical, civil and chemical engineering subjects reached top ten positions while computer science and information systems jumped up the table by eleven places.
The School of Mechanical Engineering achieved an impressive 1st place in the league table, further cementing the University of Leeds' reputation as one of the leading institutions for mechanical engineering in the UK. Their position, was in part attributed to the excellent results from the latest National Student Survey in which 96% of students were satisfied with their course.
The University of Leeds engineering subjects are ranked as follows:
- Mechanical Engineering: 1st
- Electronic and Electrical Engineering: 5th
- Civil Engineering: 6th
- Chemical Engineering: 6th
- Computer Science and Information Systems: 21st
Published annually, the Guardian’s University league tables rank institutions according to student/staff ratio, spend per student, graduate career prospects, and the overall student satisfaction with the course based on results from the annual National Student Survey (NSS).
