Civil Engineering PhD student wins 3rd prize at Young Researchers' Conference

Congratulations to Demetris Demetriou, second year PhD student in Civil Engineering, who has won joint 3rd prize at the Young Researchers' Conference, which is organised by the IStructE.

The conference brings together forward thinking structural engineering PhD students and researchers, along with industry professionals. A selected shortlist were invited to present their PhD at the event on 14 April 2015. Demetris won joint third prize for his work on 'Tuning and shaping semi-active tuned mass dampers for use on high-rise wind excited structures'. His project is supervised by Dr Konstantinos Tsavdaridis, Dr Nikolaos Nikitas, and Professor John Forth.
