High Fliers 2015 report reveals buoyant job market for engineering and computing graduates

The High Fliers annual review of graduate vacancies and starting salaries at Britain’s leading employers reveals that graduate recruitment will be at its highest in 2015.

Engineering and Industrial firms are the 4th largest recruiters of entry-level graduate positions with 1,708 vacancies in 2015 alone. The buoyant graduate vacancies market means that there are more opportunities in 2015 for graduates than in the last ten years. The engineering and industrial sector recorded a 21% increase in the number of positions while IT and telecommunications rose by an impressive 160%.

According to the report, work experience is key to securing a graduate vacancy, with over a third of engineering graduates and a quarter of IT and telecommunication graduates securing positions within firms they have already worked for, either through paid internships, industrial placements or vacation work.
