Computing spin-out company wins fastest growing business award

School of Computing spin-out company Tracsis have won the 2014 Santander/Smarta "Breakthrough 50" award, for the fastest growing/most inspiring business in the UK.

The company, which specialises in developing software for the transportation industry, has grown by 96% in the last 2 years. Tracsis spun out of the School of Computing in 2004 starting with no employees and only little revenue. Now it employs almost 200 staff and will generate more than £17M in 2014. They currently have 7 office locations here in the UK, 4 offices in Australia and a new footprint in the US. Their head office is still based at the university, within the Leeds Innovation Centre.

The Santander Breakthrough 50 awards aim to find the most inspiring businesses in the UK, those which are transforming established industries, and inspiring others to grow into businesses that push the economy forward.
