The Faculty of Engineering Employability team have been shortlisted for two categories in the National Undergraduate Employability (NUE) Awards 2016.

The Employability Team have been shortlisted for both the ‘Most improved commitment to employability’ and ‘Best university placement service’ categories in the National Undergraduate Employability (NUE) Awards 2016.

The ‘Most improved commitment to employability’ category, which the team were also shortlisted for last year, celebrates the improved effort and service of a university department for its commitment to enhance student employability. The ‘Best university placement service’ category, sponsored by Mark & Spencer, judges the best service and help offered by an Employability team to increase student’s opportunities for gaining a placement role.

Emily Timson, the Engineering Employability Business Development Manager commented “We’re delighted to have made the final once again for the Most Improved Commitment to Employability, and for this first time we are also finalists in the Best Placement Service category.”

She continued “The Faculty of Engineering made a commitment to invest in employability support a number of years ago, and whilst we’re still adapting and improving our offering to employers and students year on year, being in the final of the National Undergraduate Employability Awards demonstrates that we’re heading in the right direction!”

The National Undergraduate Employability Awards is sponsored by PwC and run in association with The Guardian. The final results will be announced at the NUE Awards Ceremony in London on Friday 12 February.
