Interdefinability of elliptic functions

I'll briefly discuss the general problem of describing those holomorphic functions which are locally definable from some given holomorphic functions.  I'll then focus on the special case where the functions involved are various kinds of elliptic functions, following some older work with Kirby and Servi and some work in progress with Kirby and Schmidt.
