There is an open quantum integrable spin chain for D_2^{(2)} with a particularly interesting spectrum, which possesses more symmetry than expected. In this talk I will construct such a spin chain, express it as a product of A_1^{(1)} (XXZ) spin chains, and use this factorization to construct the algebraic Bethe Ansatz for it. Such factorization allows the explicit construction of the extra symmetry and explains the spectrum in a simple way.
