NASA astronaut landing at University of Leeds

This Pint of Science event, "Astronaut Tour" will feature a talk from NASA astronaut Tony Antonelli and Dr Catherine Walsh, an astrochemist at the University of Leeds.

The event, taking place from 6.30pm on Tuesday 19 February, will include a talk from NASA astronaut Tony Antonelli and Dr Catherine Walsh, an astrochemist at the University of Leeds’ School of Physics and Astronomy. It is set to entertain people of all ages with stories of space missions and zero gravity.

NASA astronaut Tony Antonelli has served as a Commander of the US Navy and flew his first mission in space as the pilot of Space Shuttle Discovery in March 2009. He also served as a pilot on the Space Shuttle Atlantic.

Dr Catherine Walsh is a University Academic Fellow here at the University of Leeds in the School of Physics and Astronomy. She is a world-renowned astrochemist and applies her skills to a range of topics from the formation of stars and planets to the composition of distant exoplanet atmospheres.

Tickets are priced at £18 for adults and £12 for concessions, with the proceeds going towards the International Space School Trust (ISSET), a UK charity that delivers unique space-related learning opportunities to children.
