Best paper award
Best paper awarded at the 2nd IEEE Middle East and North Africa COMMunications Conference in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr Des McLernon and Dr Ali Zaidi, along with alumni Dr Sami Al Dalahmeh, Dr Saleh Al-Jazzar and Dr Marco Cardénas, recently won the Best Paper Award at the 2nd IEEE Middle East and North Africa Communications Conference (MENACOMM) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, 19-21 November, 2019. The paper “Distributed Combining Techniques for Distributed Detection in Fading Wireless Sensor Networks” was presented by Dr Sami Al Dalahmeh.
The conference focussed on various aspects of 5G communications and networks and included a peer-reviewed programme of technical sessions and exhibition. This year’s theme was “Communications for sustainable development” which focussed on how communications and information technologies can enrich a sustainable future in areas such as agriculture, education, environment, and health. The event attracted participations from researchers, developers and practitioners interested in the advances of modern telecommunication systems, networks, and emerging ICT technologies.
