What have you been doing since finishing your studies? What are you doing in terms of your career?

After finishing my masters degrees, I started my career by teaching Electrical Engineering as a Lecturer. I always look forward to new exciting opportunities to further enhance my career growth which is why I started my career with teaching due to the confidence and intellectual growth I had by studying at University of Leeds.

What company are you working for, what is your role and what does it involve?

Until recently I was teaching an Electrical Engineering course at Abasyn University, Pakistan. However, I have now accepted an offer to work as an Engineer in UAE at a prestigious company.

What experiences at Leeds do you think have particularly helped with your career/will help with your future career?

The positive atmosphere and individual support I had during my time at the University of Leeds helped me in my career and will continue to do so.

Looking back, why did you choose to study your particular course and why did you choose the University of Leeds?

I always had a very keen interest in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. The interest provided me with determination to continue my academics in it and University of Leeds being among the top provider of quality education in this particular field was always my first choice. Looking back I am glad of my decision to choose the University of Leeds for my Masters in Electronic and Electrical Engineering.

What was the best aspect of the course/the University and why? Any highlights?

The course itself was of a high standard with the mind stimulating and the challenging course work theoretically and the lab sessions but if I were to choose the best aspect, it will definitely be my project. It was unique and all the time I spent in the lab developing it is the most memorable. The supervisors were very helpful and encouraging.

What other activities outside of your studies were you involved in?

Football! There used to be football matches with fellow class mates and people from different departments too. It was fun!

What would you say to students thinking about studying the same course at Leeds/thinking about the same career?

I would like to suggest to the students who wants to pursue the same career as I did, that Electronic and Electrical Engineering is one of the leading career paths and it has endless opportunities and enormous scope for growth. By choosing this course I had many options to consider and I would personally recommend them to study at University of Leeds because the faculty is not only top class but also they are very helpful every step of the way till you complete the course!
