Dr David Connolly

I'm an Associate Professor working within the Institute of High Speed Rail and System Integration. I have established an internationally leading research profile on railway dynamics, settlement and ground-borne vibration. This has involved lead projects such as: investigating novel techniques (e.g. asphalt and geogrid) to reduce railway track settlements, developing new modelling techniques to rapidly simulate railway track dynamics, developing sensors to monitor railway track behaviour, and performing ground vibration field experiments across Europe.

I’m passionate about teaching and am interested in introducing innovative learning and teaching techniques to improve students' learning experiences.  The Railway Engineering with Project Management MSc gives students to chance to gain holistic knowledge of the railway industry, including project management.
