MSc (Eng) Engineering, Technology and Business Management
Why did you decide to study a masters at the University of Leeds?
After graduating I have worked as a professional services engineer in the telecommunications industry for 4 years. I acquired valuable technical knowledge but realised that I needed to further understand the business side of engineering projects to advance on my career. This course offers a great opportunity to develop knowledge on engineering management. Additionally, t he University of Leeds is one of top ranked universities in engineering and business.
What has been the best aspect of studying on your course and at the University so far and why?
I met people from different nationalities and formed a close friendship with some of them.
The course gave me the opportunity to select my modules according to my interests in both disciplines and to have highly experienced professors in every lecture.
Tell us about some of the exciting projects you have completed.
- The dissertation consisted in developing the business model of an emerging technology for a cloud service provider by considering the innovation, operations, and supply chain to develop the project.
- Completed interesting essays on new and technologies such as Big Data, Smart Cities, SDN, and Autonomous Vehicles.
What does Leeds as a city have to offer students?
The city centre has many options to have fun with your friends including pubs, clubs, restaurants, museums, and shopping centres. The countryside offers several activities to enjoy nature from a nice walk in a park to hiking and kayaking.
What are your ambitions for the future?
I would like to get a job in a technology firm having the opportunity to use what I have learned during my course to design the strategy of new projects and technologies.
What experiences at Leeds do you think will help you in your future career?
Learning to work and communicate with people from different countries, in all sort of group assignments.
What would you say to students coming to do the same course?
To take advantage of the learning and cultural experience.
