Dr Jochen Voss

Research interests

I am interested in all areas of computational statistics, probability and stochastic processes. Some topics I have worked on are the following:

  • numerical solution of SPDEs
  • MCMC methods, in particular in infinite dimensional spaces
  • Approximate Bayesian Computation (ABC)
  • a parameter estimation problem in psychology
  • probability distributions on the torus
  • large deviations for diffusion processes

Student education

I teach statistics modules at all levels, ranging from general first year modules to specialised MSc courses.
