Profile
I am a lecturer in water engineering, teaching across undergraduate and post graduate courses, and a chartered Civil Engineer. My interests lie in how to translate teaching and research into improvements in water and sanitation provision across the globe. I completed my PhD in sanitation regulation at Cranfield University in 2025 and subsequantly worked as a senior research fellow in sanitation economics. Before joining the University of Leeds I worked for Mott MacDonald, the World Bank, the Red Cross and several international NGOs for more than two decades.
Research interests
My research interests are in urban water supply and sanitation services, with a focus on low-income areas and marginalised communities. I am interested in changes to policy, institutions and regulation which can contribute to universal access to water and sanitation services.
