Studying magnetic materials with atomistic spin dynamics

Dr Joseph Barker, will give an introduction to atomistic spin dynamics, a computational approach which allows the detailed study of the thermodynamic and non-equilibrium properties of magnetic materials. He will show the recently improved the approach by the inclusion of quantum statistics. Yttrium Iron Garnet (YIG) will be used as an example to show how we can understand magnon spin transport from such calculations.
