Dr George Jackson-Mills, is an early career academic, and a Lecturer in Robotics for Inspection and Maintenance within the Multidisciplinary Institute of Design, Robotics and Manufacture (iDRaM) at the University of Leeds. At Leeds, during his post doctorate he has been the lead mechanical design engineer of miniature inspection robotic systems on EPSRC Pipebots (EP/S016813/1). He managed a team of world class robotics engineers in an international competition MBZIRC 2020, forming creative robotic solutions to solve complex challenges. He completed an Industrially Sponsored PhD with National Grid Gas Transmission (NGGT) and its project partners Synthotech, Premtech, and Pipeline Integrity Engineers, as part of Project GRAID: Gas Robotic Agile Inspection Device. The novel robotic research output from his PhD was spun-out of UoL to form the company Acuity Robotics Ltd. He specialises in the design and development of creative mechanical solutions for miniature robotic embedded systems.
