Profile
Before joining the Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering at the University of Leeds as a research fellow, I completed my Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi, India. During my doctoral studies, I delved into investigating the mechanical behavior of Annulus fibrosus tissue across molecular and tissue length-scales. Prior to pursuing my Ph.D., I worked as a Graduate Master's Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, India, focusing on the development of spinal implants as alternatives to conventional pedicle screws and ball and socket type TDR devices. I obtained my B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, India.
Research interests
My research interests encompass the development of a continuum-based model for spinal facet joints and the mechanics of biological tissues across various length scales. I am also dedicated to designing and developing implants for degenerative conditions, aiming to advance treatment options and improve patient outcomes in healthcare.
