- Thesis title: Water Sustainability in The Indonesian Batik Industry
- Supervisor: Professor Alison McKay
Profile
I am a PhD student in the School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Leeds. My field of study is in engineering design systems.
My study is sponsored by The Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI), Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia.
I have been working as a junior lecturer in the Department of Industrial Engineering, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Indonesia since I graduated my master degree in the School of Manufacturing Engineering and Management, University of New South Wales, Australia in 2013.
Research interests
I am interested in research on sustainable product design and manufacturing. Therefore, my PhD research explores an approach for assessing the sustainability of water use in the manufacturing process as an integral part of the product design process. The case study of my research is the Indonesian batik industry. This industry consumes a large amount of water and produces harmful wastewater due to its production process. In addition, the volume of water that is required to produce a product design is influenced by the design of the product.
