Profile

I obtained my Masters of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering with Biomedical Engineering at Newcastle University in July 2017. The following September, I started an integrated MSc and PhD within the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine – Innovation in Medical and Biological Engineering (CDT TERM-IMBE), at the Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (iMBE).

Research interests

My PhD project is titled: Innovative Manufacturing of Decellularised Bone Scaffolds. This project is focused on developing a precise, tuneable, high quality throughput method to manufacture replacement bone for clinical procedures. This project combines a variety of disciplines: programming, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and biomedical sciences. As the project is based around the commercialisation of a medical device, my research interests also span to areas of medical device translation such as health economics and intellectual property.
