Profile
I hold a BSc in Product Design from the University of Huddersfield. During the four-year course I gained a strong set of design and CAD skills. As part of my degree, I completed a placement at the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre as a design consultant and returned full-time upon completing my degree. I provided technical services to clients, specialising in 3D Scanning, 3D design work and 3D printing. I was also trained and certified to operate Renishaw's Metal AM printers.
In 2019 I became a 3D printing technician in the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds. This position involved supporting students with their 3D printing needs utilizing various AM technologies such as Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF), Stereolithography (SLA) and Polyjet 3D printers. Alongside this, I undertook a Master's Degree in Advanced Materials and Additive Manufacturing at the University of Derby. My dissertation investigated the suitability of Metal Additive Manufacturing to produce legacy components for the UK’s agricultural sector.
In February 2023 I started my PhD which is investigating the 3D printing of micro-features for high frequency RF applications.
