Profile
Atreya completed his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering (First Class) (June 2020) from Manipal Academy of Higher Education with his final thesis topic being Condition Monitoring of Engineering Equipment using Vibrational Analysis, which he undertook in Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (an Oil and Gas company, in India).
After this, he moved to the U.K. to pursue his Masters in Materials Science and Engineering from SCAPE, the University of Leeds in September 2020. He had worked on “Analysis of low-resolution images of as-solidified Ni-Al alloys captured using high-speed camera onboard international space station (ISS) using MATLAB” as part of his thesis work and achieved an overall distinction in his masters (September 2021).
He started his Ph.D. in the School of Mechanical Engineering under Dr. Liuquan Yang and Professor Rik Drummond Brydson in November 2021.
Research interests
Research Interests include: Green and renewable energy applications, dielectric and high corrosion resistance materials, sustainable manufacturing, biomedical coatings, and nanomedicine applications
