Siddeequah M. Azmi

Profile

Siddeequah is the White Rose Industrial Physics Academy (WRIPA) Business Engagement Officer for the School of Physics and Astronomy.

Her primary focus is on enhancing student employability for WRIPA students by building and maintaining business relationships with regional employers, economic growth organisations and other external stakeholders that promote the research strengths and capabilities of the Department of Physics at the University of Leeds.

Working collaboratively with the other WRIPA BEOs, she works on pro-actively marketing the skills of our Physics students externally; enhancing the student employability skills experience internally; and identifying opportunities for work placements, projects, internships and microplacements for Physics students.

Siddeequah is a University of Leeds STEM alumna, and has worked on successful projects in polymer physics, astrophysics and petrophysics.  She also has several years of experience as the project liaison for the MSc Exploration Geophysics programme, building and maintaining relationships with project sponsors and external stakeholders within the Oil & Gas and Near Surface geophysics industries.

If your organisation would like to engage with the School of Physics (or any other schools within the Engineering and Physical Sceinces Faculty), do get in touch with her.  This can range from student work experience and projects to site visits and internship/graduate vacancies.
