Profile
I am currently Centre Manager for the Bragg Centre for Materials Research, I am responsible for driving engagement, collaboration and cohesion across the advanced materials community at the University of Leeds, and building strategic partnerships for the Bragg Centre for Materials Research. Giving input to the Centre's strategic direction, overseeing and implementing the delivery of the Centre's vision (https://www.leeds.ac.uk/bragg-centre-materials-research). I also currently leading the Women in Fluid Dynamics UK Special Interest Group (https://www.fluids.ac.uk/sig/WomenFD).
I have an academic background in Pharmacology (BSc, University of Sunderland 2006); Forensic Science (MSc, University of Teesside, 2007) and Neurotoxicology (PhD, Newcastle University, 2012). I have also spent some time working in quality control laboratories (Norpath Laboratories 2004 and Sanofi Aventis 2007-2008).
Following my PhD I joined the University of Leeds in the Organisational Development and Professional Learning department in 2012, supporting PGR training.
From 2014-2025 I was the Centre Manager for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics at the University of Leeds. The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics tackles fundamental and applied problems providing students from a wide range of academic backgrounds with the opportunity to undertake cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research (https://fluid-dynamics.leeds.ac.uk/)
I was also responsible for managing the Leeds Institute for Fluid Dynamics (2018-2025). The Institute is a cross-disciplinary research institute that brings together expertise in a collaborative framework in order to maximise the effectiveness and impact of fluids research (https://fluids.leeds.ac.uk/)
