Profile
I am a lecturer in Institute of Communication and Power Networks, University of Leeds. I received a B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering and it’s Automation in 2016, and a PhD in Power System and its Automation in 2021, both from South China University of Technology, China. After graduation, I worked as a research associate in Centre for Integrated Renewable Energy Generation and Supply, Cardiff University until July 2024. I was a mentee during the IEEE PES Women in Power Mentoring Scheme 2023-2024 and currently I am a early career committee member of Supergen Energy Networks Hub. My main research areas include the modelling, simulation and optimisation of integrated energy systems combing multiple vectors, as well as system integration and optimal employment of renewable energy generation and other low-carbon energy technologies.
Research interests
- Modelling, simulation, and optimisation of integrated energy systems and energy hubs combining multiple vectors, such as electricity, heating, cooling, gas, hydrogen, and transportation.
- Design and operation of local integrated heat and electricity networks considering the coordinated roll-out of geothermal sites and low-carbon building clusters.
- Building energy system and demand-side response
- Integrated electricity, heating, gas and hydrogen system considering pipeline dynamics and hydrogen injection
- Energy management and decarbonisation of regional energy systems via electrification and sectoral coupling (particularly in hard-to-abate sectors, i.e. heating, transportation, and industry).
- System integration and optimal use of renewable energy generation and other energy technologies as flexibility assets in the power system.
- Big data analytics and AI applications for integrated energy system modelling and analysis.
