Dr George Chinanu Mbaeyi

Profile

I am a lecturer in Statistics based in the School of Mathematics. I am leading module delivery within the fully online MSc Data Science (Statistics) programme jointly run by the school of Mathematics and Digital Education of the University of Leeds. I value and have interest in discourse that considers and involves students as partners in the discussions and actions that shape their learning, with the aim to reveal hidden curriculum within fully online programmes.

Research interests

My research interest lies around classification analysis, particularly optimal classification methods involving mixed and complex data. In student education, I am more interested in working in partnership with students and staff to improve the learning experience of fully online students with more emphasis on co-creating and designing equitable and effective assessments. My curect research considers student involvement in co-creating learning materials including assessment-related resources, videos and laboratory activities. I am also interested in exploring ways of improving students’ engagement in fully online programme such MSc Data Science (Statistics).

Student education
