Profile
I’m a Lecturer in the School of Computing at the University of Leeds, specialising in neuroscience and AI. My research combines insights from both biological and artificial intelligence using connectionist models to develop new AI paradigms, with a particular focus on resource-efficient AI.
I studied Physiology at the University of Oxford and then obtained a PhD in experimental and computational Neuroscience at University College London, which together laid the foundation for my multidisciplinary approach to understanding neural systems. After my PhD, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Blake Richards in Montreal, Canada, at McGill University and the MILA Quebec AI Institute.
Research interests
I’m interested in how neuroscience can inform, influence and learn from frontier AI.
